A Primer to Vitamins Online
Buying vitamins online is just like buying anything else, do a little research, know what the best products are, no what the average prices are, and make an informed decision. Here's some basic tips...
+ Know the benefits of what you're buying. People tend to go for a product because it has "30% more calcium than leading competitors!" Here's a hint: calcium is one of the cheapest supplements. You get 1000% of your daily calcium in a bag of candy corn (though I wouldn't suggest eating a bag of candy corn every day). When paying more, make sure you're paying for more of the stuff that COSTS more, not just more stuff in general. One of the best vitamin buys would be anything with added omega 3 benefits, as these usually aren't included in a typical multivitamin
+ Know the source of your vitamins. Many online sellers get their vitamins from cheap exported sources like China. Cheap exports are often not Rx quality and sometimes don't even contain the supplement listed. Make sure your sources are American or Japanese Rx quality vitamins. The website should have this information. If it does not, do not buy vitamin supplements them.
+Be careful with the mass market vitamins. Places like the vitamin shoppe and vitamin world are fine for the average Joe. But if you're into serious supplements, these whole market sellers probably don't supple the best simply because premium nutrients are more expensive.

Some Common Things to Avoid...
When perusing the internet, avoid buying vitamins from these sorts of websites.
+If the supplier says "Whole Saler" There are no vitamin whole salers. There are only large scale vitamin sellers like Vitamin Shoppe and GNC, or there are individual companies that make their own vitamins. Avoid everything else.
+"70% - 80% name brands!" If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. The way these sellers keep such cheap prices is buy purchasing lots of vitamins that have passed their expiration date. Basically, you're buying year-old vitamins if you buy from these sorts of sellers. Not a good idea.
+"Ye Vitamine Shoppe" "GNNC" "The World Vitamin Seller" etc. Just like fake watch brands and television brands. The vitamin industry is filled with labels that look like the major labels, but are most likely Chinese rip-offs. Be sure the name of the vitamin you're trying to buy is the ACTUAL name and not just a similar-sounding copy cat.
